Councilman Dodds made motion that J. F. Bates be released from his
bond, as he has fulfilled his contract, the matter of filling up Eastern
Heights Avenue. as per agreement.
Bids for the construction of the Ash Street sewer, as advertised
for, were received as follows:
Salina Plumbing Company,
Otto Peterson,
D. G. Stack,
O'Neil Construction Company of Leavenworth, Kansas.
Everett & Burt of Hutchinson, Kansas.
On motion of Councilman Dodds the bid of Otto Peterson for the con-
struction of Monolithic (36) inch Reinforced Concrete sewer at $3.40 per
lineal foot, and manholes 6180.00 each and (36) inch river crossing for
$1900.00 be accepted, and that the certified checks of the mnsuccessful
bidders be returned.
An Ordinance was introduced entitled, "An ordinance letting t!:e con-
tract for the construction of certain sewer in the city of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Councilman Dodds the Ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Miller, Hansen, Dodds, Brick, Swedenburg, Hanly, Stevenson and
Studebaker. (Eight) Nays: (None) Councilman Benson not voting. Councilman
Peck absent. The Ordinance was adopted and numbered 1736.
On motion of Councilman Benson the Street Commissioner was instructed
to remove all hitching posts, that have not been removed by property own-
ers as per ordinance.
On motion of Councilman Hanly, Council adjourned.

Regular adjourned meeting of the City Council, November 24th, 1913.
Mayor Niuette presiding,, City Attorney H. C. Tobey and the following
named councilmen answered to roll call: Miller, Hansen, Dodds, Brick, Swed-
enburg, Hanly, Stevenson, Studeba':er and Benson. Councilman Peck absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of November 17th, 1913, was read
and,approved as read.
An Ordinance was introduced entitled, "An ordinance providing for
the condemnation and appropriation of certain real estate in the city of
Salina, Kansas, Saline County, Kansas, for the purpose of opening and cre-
ating and alley extending from the east side of Seventh Street, and com-
mencing at the southwest corner of lot one hundred and three (103) on Sev-
enth Street in the City of Salina; running thence east through said lot
number one,hundred and three (103) on Seventh Street tothe Ulley running
north and south and abutting on the east side of lot one hundred and three
(103); and providing for the atpointment of appraisers therefor, and pre-
scribing their duties! The ordinance was read and referred to the Street
and Alley Committee.
