Regular adjourned meeting of the City Councul, September 29,
1913; Mayor i,Tiquette presiding, Acting City Attorney, lVillis Crowthers
and the following named Councilmen answered to roll call; Miller, Hansen,
Peck, Brick, Swedenburg, Hanly, Stevenson, titudeba,Ter and Fenson.
The minutes of the regular i:;onthly meeting of September 15, 1913,
was read, and approved as read.
Bids were received for furnishing, coy l for the City Building as
follows:
Leidigh & Havens Lumber Co. !"'3.60 per ton for immediate delivery
and x;3.75 for January delivery.
Independent Coal Co., ',"3..1'-',0 per ton for immed4ate delivery, and
`?3.75 for January delivery.
Eberhardt Lumber Co. y-3.50 p( -.r ton for both deliveries.
On motion of Councilman Peck the contrast ',Vas let to the Eberhardt
Lumber Co., as per their bid.
The matter of installing gates between the City Building; and. the
City Jail was generally discussed, and on motion of Councilman.enson the
matter was referred to the Building Committee for inve:.t igat ion.

Mr. P. G. Wakenhut, City Eng ineer, Lawrence Kans. Sept. 25, 1913.
Salina, Kansas.
Dear Sir:
I am returning; to ycu the signed tracings of the sewer extension.
The extension has already been approved by the :t1.1 -,e Boerd of Health.
Therefore, I will ask ,you to fill out .the enclosed blank and return to Erie
a copy of the blue prints.
I believe to cross the river is to do you have sugSested; th,,-.t
is, with a cast iron pipe on ddequ,.te concrete i)ier.'s. ie shall be very
glad indeed to get u ra-p showing, the whole sewer system of the city.
There is no expense connected with the examin.-_tion of the plans.

An Ordi:-.ante was introduced entitled, " An Ordinance r.)rovidin� for
the e ;tension of the main or .sh street sewer in the city of Salina., Kan-
sas, and providing for the manner of construction a,id for the payment of
the co., --t thereof. " On motion of Councilman Miller the rules of order
were suspended for its consideration by the following vote; Ayes, Biller,
Hansen, Doddc=, BriclT, ewedenburg, Harlly, -Steven::on, Studebaker and T'enson.

City Engineer's plans and specifications for the ?':.sh Street sewer ex-
tension was received and adopted by the Council.
On motion of Councilman Miller, Council adjourned.
