07-30-1928 Minutes5- 00 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, —1 SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 30th, 1928. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 30th, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commisstoners Helvering. Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 23rd, 1928, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: �'An ordinance granting Union Pacific Railroad Company, its suc- cessors and assigns, the right to extend "eber Mill spur east thirty (30) felt in North Street and west across Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Campbell, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance granting Union Pacific Railroad Company, its suc- cessors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain and operate standard gauge railroad tracks over and across North Street between Ninth and Eleventh Streets and across the east and west alley and along the north and south alley in Block 5, Depot Addition to the City of Salina , Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a certain part of a certain alley located between Santa F "venue and Fifth Street, south of line Street, in the City of �aiina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and regulating the construction, alteration and use of buildings in the fire limits of the City of Jalina for hotel, rooming house or apartment house purposes." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Planning. Commission submitted report, recommending that Lots 1, 2 and 3 on Twelfth Street in Weavers Addition be added to the commercial zone now existing and adjoining this tract on the north. On m otion of Commissioner Dodds the above recommendations were ordered filed, and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for hearing at the Commissioners room in the City Hall of saline, Kansas. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer to serve the roperty along Custer Street between Crawford Avenue and Venango treet. Same was referred to the City Engineer. A petition was presented asking the Board of Commissioners to repeal Dog Ordinance No. 3538. Same was tabled by the Board of Commissioners. Taxicab Liability Policy and application was received from Floyd H. Mizener, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer filed plans, specifications and estimate of cost for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Number 148 and 150, in the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Dodds same were approved by the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and including Monday, August 13th, 192B at 4:00 P. M. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, the Board of Commission- ersadjourned. City clerk.
