COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA.. KANSAS.
JULY 23rd, 1926.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 23rd,
1928. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Campbell, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and Dodds responded.
Commissioner Helvering and City Attorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 16th, 1928, were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Dodds
(2) Nays (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3578.
City Engineers Estimate Number 2 for the construction of
sewers under contract dated June 12th, 1928, awarded to C. T.
Snyder was received, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same
was adopted by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for reading entitled: "An
ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain
claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Campbell
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 3579.
A petition was presented asking that trees in certain parts
of the City be trimmed. Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the installation
of a street light in the alley between Seventh Street and Eighth
Street on Lincoln Avenue. Same was referred to the City Manager.
The following communication was received from the City
Planning Commission:
Salina, Kansas. July 23rd, 1928.
We, the undersigned members of the City Planning Commission
of Salina, Kansas, do approve the erection of a filling station
and -allied use of buildings, including tourist cabins, to be
erected at the northwest corner of Ninth and Cleflin.
Said buildings to be erected along the lines of the Lutch
Mill now being erected at the Northwest corner of Santa Fe and
Pacific and as per plans submitted which are hereby approved.

Co issioner Dodds moved that same be approved by the
Board of ommiss inners and that Building Inspector be instructed
to issue permit for construction of same.
Notice was received from the Continental casualty Company,
notifying the City of galina that the bond filed by Joe Morris
for the occupation of house moving, would be cancelled on the
23rd day of August, 1928. On motion, same was ordered
filed.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An
ordinance creating and defining certain Lateral Sanitary
Sewer Districts No. 148 and 150, and providing for the con-
struction of lateral sanitary sewers in the districts created;
providing for the cost thereof, and for the levy of special
assessments to pay such cost."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by Sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Dodds (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3580.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain storm
sewers in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewers
No. 9 and 10, and providing for the issuing of improvement bonds
to pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
