On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Dodds (2) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3565.

Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 2nd, 1928.
Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Campbell, the roll was
called and Commissioners Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris
responded. Commissioner Helvering absent.
The minutes cf the Regular Meeting of June 25th, 1928, were
read and approved as read*
Recommendations of the City Planning Commission, presented
to the Board of Commissioners, May 28th, 1928 were taken up and
discussed by the Board of Commissioners.
There being no one appearing to object to said recommendations,
same were approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation# for miscellanous purposes. It
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Campbell (2)
Nays (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3561.
City Engineers Final Estimate, for the construction of certain
street improvements, included in contract dated April 16th, 192B ,
awarded to L. W. Rexroad was received, and on motion of Commissioner
Dodds same was adopted by the Board of Commissioners.

City Engineers Estimate Number 2 for the construction of Storm
Sewer No. 8, under contract dated April 16th, 1928, awarded to
H. J. Taylor Construction Company, was received, and on motion of
Commissioner Dodds same was adopted by the Board of Commissioners.

"An ordinance creating and defining certain Main Sewer Districts
"P" and "Q" and providing for the construction of a Main Sewer in
Main Sewer -District "P" so created; providing for the cost there-
of and for the levy of special assessments against the property
in such district for the payment of such cost, and for the issu-
ing of bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called _
and the 2)llowing vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Dodds (2)
Nays : (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3567.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of a pumping station
for the purpose of pumping the sewage of Main Sewer District
11P11 into the existing sewer located on Eleventh Street at Wilson
Street, in order to conduct the sewage of Main Sewer District
trpn to a point of outlet.ti
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final a(b ption the roll was ca�led

Nays (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3568.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary
Sewer District in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral
Sanitary Sewer District No. 143j"Viid providing for the construct-
ion of a main sewer in the district so created; providing for
the cost thereof and for the levy of special assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An application was received from the Bell Taxi Company
asking for permission to have parking. space for one taxicab in
front of the Quick Jervi.ce Cafe located at 109 West sh Street,
and at the corner of Santa. Fe Avgnae and Ash Street,, south of
Bishop Building, in the City A alina, Kansas.
On motion, permission was granted, subject to revocation
at any time by the property owner or lessee, of said property.
A petition was presented asking for the vacation of the
alley between Morrison 'venue and Washington Avenue and Eleventh
and Twelfth Streets.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
The appraise Es reports for the curbs and guttering of
the north side of uclid Avenue from Fifth btreet to Ninth Street;
For the curbing, guttering and paving of North Street
from Ninth street to Twelfth Street;
For the paving of North Street from Twelfth Street to
Whittredge treet,
were received, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds, Monday, July
9th, 1928 at 5:00,P- M. was designated as a special meeting, at
which time the appraisers reports will be taken up and acted on
by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice
in the official City paper as provided by law.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral anitary
Sewer in Lateral Sewer llistrict No. 141, and relating to and "
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On notion of Commissioner Dodds, same was referred to the
Board 'of ommissioners,.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Janitary
Sewer in Ieteral Sewer District No. 142 , and relating to and
providing for t e collect on and paymentof such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
