06-12-1928 Minutes'A4 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 12th, 1928. Adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 12th, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Dodds moved that the contract for paving 301 slab on North Street from the east Line of Twelfth Street to the west line of Whittredge Street be awarded to L. W. Rex - road, as per his bid submitted, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract for said improvement. Motion carried. Commissioner Campbell moved that the contract for the curbing, guttering and paving of North. Street from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of elfth Street be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for 22 inch brick on 6'r concrete base; also that the contrac t for curbing and guttering of north side of Euclid Avenue from the west line of Fifth Street to the east line of Ninth Street be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company as per his bid submitted, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract for said improve- ments. Motion carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled; "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the ex- cavating, grading and paving of North Street from the east line of Twelfth Street to the city limits at the intersection of North 6treet with the Union PacificrrRailroad right-of-way being the west line of Whittredge Street. On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance confirming and ratifying a contract for the improvement of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds for the payment of the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Campbell moved that the contract for Storm Sewers 7-A and 8-A, be awarded to C. T. Snyder as per his bid submitted, said job to be completed on or before the 15th day of July, 1928, and a penalty of 425.00 per day for each and every day after the expiration of the time limit, until such work is completed., and that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract for said improvements. Motion carried. Commissioner Campbell moved that the contract for lateral sanitary sewers No. 141 and 142, be awarded to C. T. Snyder as per his bid submitted, said job to be completed on or before the 25th day of July, 1928, and a penalty of $25.00 per day for each and every day after the expiration of the time limit until such work is completed, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract for said improvements. Motion carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building and construction of certain storm sewers in the City of -alina described as Storm ewers 7-A and 8-A and providing for -the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds for the payment of such cost*'r On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building and construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in Leteral Sewer Districts No. 141 and 142 in the City of Salina and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds for the payment of such cost. 47P On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Clerk was instructed to publish necessary Weed Notice, notifying property owners to cut their weeds according to law. On motion of Commissioner Dodds, meeting adjourned. i City Clerk.
