MAY 14th, 1928.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, May 14th,
1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hielvering, the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 7th, 1928, were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled.: "An
ordinance approving the report of Commissioners in the matter of
the condemnation of certain land for the opening, widening and
extending of Eleventh Street from the south line of Park Street
at a point 130 feet south of the south line of Park Street; mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of the amount awarded by such
commissioners to the owners of the property condemned; and
providing for the completion of such condemnation proceedings in
the manner provided by law."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays:. (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3534.

On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roil was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3 ) Nays: (0 ) The Dl�ayor approved the same and
is numbered. 3535.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
An ordinance creating and defining lateral sanitary sewer dis-
tricts in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral 6dewer Dis-
tricts No. 141 and 142; providing for the construction of lateral
sewers in such districts, providing for the cost thereof and
for the levying of special assessment against the property in such
districts far the payment of such cost, and for the issuing of
bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
-called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered. 3536.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
'tAn ordinance granting to the Shellsbarger Terminal Elevator
Company the right to erect and maintain poles and wires over and
along certain streets in the City of "alina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to dogs, prohibiting dogs from running
at large in the City of Salina, defining certain nuisances,
providing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance, and
repealing Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1976, being Vection 1-106
of the Revised Ordinances, 1925."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and gut-
tering and 3 feet of paving to be laid on each side of the
proposed 30 -foot slab pavement on North Street between Twelfth
Street end Thirteenth Street.
Onmotion, same aaas referred to the City Attorney.

A petition was presented asking for the installation of
an are light on the corner of Gypsum Avenue and Penn Avenue, and
on eht corner of Hill Drive and Penn Avenue.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
The appraisers reports for the paving of:
Cedar atreet from Phillips Street to College Avenue;
Ninth Street from North Street to Lincoln Avenue;
Alley between Seventh and Eighth Streets from Ash to Elm; and
for the curbing, guttering and paving of:
Lincoln Avenue front Santa Fe "venue to Ninth Street;
Minneapolis Avenue from Ninth to hihland;
Oakdale `venue from Iron Avenue to Upsum Avenue; also
for the curbing and guttering of:
Center Jtreet from Fifth Street to entrance to Kenwood Park,
were, received, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds, Monday, May
21st, 1928 at 5:00 P. M. was designated. as a Special Yeeting, at
which timQ the reports will be taken up and acted upon by the
Board of �'ommissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice in
the official City paper as provided by law.
