COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.

SALINA, KANSAS.
APRIL 14th, 1928.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, April 14th,
1928. A-zeeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Campbell, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and Dodds and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Helvering absent.
Bids as advertised for the paving of:
Alley between Seventh and Eighth Streets from Ash Street
to Elm Street;
Unpaved portion in center of Ninth Street from North
Street to Lincoln Avenue;
Cedar street from Phillips Street to College "venue;
for the curbing, guttering and paving of:
Lincoln Avenue from Santa Fe "venue to Ninth Street;
Minneapolis Avenue from Highland Avenue to Ninth Street;
Oakdale "'venue from Iron Avenue to Gypsum Avenue;
for the curbing and guttering of:
Center Street from Fifth Street to entrance to Kenwood
Park;
also for the construction of Storm Sewer Number 8,
were received from:
M. W. Watson, Topeka, Kansas,
Reed & Wheelock, Clay Center, Kansas,
J. H. Shears & Sons, Hutchinson, Kansas,
L. W. Rexroad, Salina, Kansas
H.J.Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas,
City Engineers Estimate for the above named work was read.
On -notion of Commissioner Dodds, the Board of Commission-
ers took a recess until 4:30 0 clock P. M., at which time the
Commissioners re -convened. Present, same as before. —
`'ity Engineer tabulated the above bids.
Commissioner Dodds moved that the bid of L. W. Rexroad
and H. J. Taylor Oonstruction Company be retained, and that
final action on same be deferred until Monday, April 16th, 1928
at 5:00 P. I,%
Commissioner Dodds moved that the bids of M. W. Watson,
Reed & Wheelock, and J. H. Shears & Sons be rejected and that
certified checks be returned to unsuccessful bidders.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned.
