Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, IVIarch
5th, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor helvering,
the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 27th,
1928 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 3507.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and
curbing and guttering of Center Street from the east line
of Fifth Street east to the entrace to Kenwood Park, providing
for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the
manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and regulating the manner of con-
struction of sidewalks, driveways, curbing, guttering and
other concrete work in'the streets and public grounds of the
City of Salina, requiring a license and bond from persons
engaged in such work, providing a penalty for the violation
of this ordinance, and repealing certain ordinances and
parts of ordinances of the City of Salina.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Taxicab liability policy of W. B. MicMickle, covering
eight taxicabs, was received, and on motion of Commissioner
Campbell same was referred to the City Attorney.
A remonstrance was presented protesting against the
curbing, guttering and paving of Ellsworth Avenge from
Highland Avenue to- Ninth Street. Same was referred. to the
City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned.
