FEBRUARY 20th, 1928.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, February
20th, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor
Campbell the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Helvering
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 13th,
1928 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion 6f Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote vias had; Ayes: Campbell and
Dodds (2 ) Nays: (0 ) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3503.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"Ah ordinance relating to the condemnation of certain private
property for the purpose of opening, widening and extending
Eleventh Street, south of Park Street; designating a Benefit
District, and providing for the appointment of Commissioners
to make an appraisement and to assess damages and benefits.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, grading and
paving of Oakdale Avenue f'r'6m the south line of Iron Avenue
to the north line of Gypsum Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
follwoing vote was had: Ayes: Campbell and Dodds (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting MEy or approved the
same and is numbered 434.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 76 of
Resolution Book Number 2.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A KesolAtion relating to the curbing, guttering, grading and
paving of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Highland Avenue
to the east line of Ninth Street."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Dodds (2 ) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 435.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 77 of
Resolution Book Number 2.
Pool Hall Bond and Application was received from ''rank 4.
Bean, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds license was granted
subject to the approval of the 6elfare Board.
A petition was presented asking for the paving of Cedar
Street from Phillips Street to College Avenue, and on motion of
Commissioner Dodds same was ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving of Minneapolis `Avenue from Highland Avenue to Ninth
Street, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same vias ordered
filed.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, grading and
paving of Minneapolis Avenue from the west line of highland
hvenue to the east line of Ninth Street."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the grading and paving of Cedar
Street from the west line of Phillips street to the east line
of Uollege Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and
estimate of cost for the construction of sn earth dike ex-
tenfing from the Missouri Pacific kailroad to the present dike
on the east side of Dry Creek along a line just north of
South Street.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, City Clerk was instruct-
ed to advertise for bids for the construction of the above
named dike, bids to be received up to and including Monday,
February 27th, 1928 at 5:00 P. M.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned.
