COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
JANUARY 9th, 1928.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, January 9th
1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 3rd, 1928
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the salaries and compensation of
certain city officers and repealing certain ordinances and
parts of ordinances in conflict herewith."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A ;resolution relating to paving of unpaved portion of Ninth
Street in the center of the street between North Stree-and
Lincoln Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the fbllowing vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
431.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page of
Resolution Book Number 2.
Pool Hall Bonds and applications for the first half of
1928 were received from:
W. A. Wilhelm, Geo. Holzmeister,
Rex Smoker L. 0. Wilhelm
LR 0. Wilhelm John S. Gordon
C. M. Allen Foil & Barbee.
Lamer Pool Hall
On motion of Commissioner Campbell license was granted
subject to the approval of the Welfare Board.
Mayor Helvering appointed Theo. P. Worsley, and H. D.
Miller as Directors of the Cemetery Board,,, for a term of
three years from January 1st, 1928.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and
estimate of cost for the construction of a 16 x 16 brick
building to be built near the Sewage Disposal Plant.
On motion, same were adopted and approved by the Board of
Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for
bids to be received up to and including January 23rd, 1928
at 12 o'clock noon.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned.
