Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth and City Att orney Norris responded. Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 9, 1932 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and j the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4149. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providi#g for the paving of Sunset Drive from the west line of Highland Circle to the west line o ersEing Street, and pro- viding for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4150. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the paving of Highland Circle from the south line of Ellsworth Avenue to the north linneo— fbelolf Avenues and provid- ing for the cost cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol- lowing vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4151. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for curbing, guttering and paving of Kirwin Avenue from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of our Street, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4152. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Ohio Street from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Gypsum Avenue, and provdding for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefdr." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4153. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering and paving of Front Street from the south line of Walnut Street south to the Smoky=l River and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assess- ed and the manner of payment therefor.'' 498 cL On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. An ordinance was.introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing and Butte ring of Chicago Street from the south line of State Street to the north lineOf Walnut greet, and providing for the cost thereof, it how the -same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor* On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4155. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the paving of Jewell Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Eleve-nUrZTreet, and for the curbing and guttering the south side of Jewell Avenue between Tenth Street and Eleventh Streets, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4156. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled.: "An ordinance providing for the widening of a portion of North Street between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street, providing for an -d aut oria- ing the acquisition by the City of Salina by purchase of certain land for such purpose; providing for and authorising the paving, curbing and guttering of a portion of North Street, as widened, between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street, the construction of a sidewalk on the north side of such street, and repealing Ordinance No. 4119 of the City of Salina. On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4157. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled ; "An ordinance providing for the repair or reconstruction of the pavement at the intersection of Ohio Street and Ash Street, and in certain portions of Ash Street in the City of Salina, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. June 6thl 1932., Commissioner Morey moved that City Clerk advertise for bids for exclusive refresinent privilege in Oakdale Park during the Swim- ming pool season. Bids to be received up to and including Monday, May 23rd, 1932 at 5:00 P. M. Moved by Commissioner Morey and seconded by Commissioner Spaeth that the set back line of the building constructed by L. B. Kemper on North Santa Fe Avenue be approved and that Building Inspector be di- rected to issue a building permit for such building according to the plat filed with the Building Inspector. Motion carried. C. F. Eckelman presented application on behalf of Mr* MeSperitt for filling station permit at northwest corner of Ninth Street and Claflin Avenue, with plat and sketch of proposed building. Motion by Commissioner Morey and seconded by Commissioner Spaeth that plans and sketch be approved and that Building Inspector be authorized to issue permit.' Motion carried. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of the north side of Republic Avenue from Ninth Street to Tenth Street* Same was ordered filed* A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of north side of Republic Avenue from west line of Ninth Street to east line of Tenth Street." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Morey the BDard of Commissioners adjourned to meet Friday, May 20th, 1932 at 1:15 P. M.
