Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, March 7, 1932.
meeting was called to order by lvlayor Stevenson, the roll was called
and Commissioners Ste venson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The Minutes of the Regular keeting of February 29, 1932, were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, I�iorey,
Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 4138.
City Engineer submitted Estimate iVo. 3 to h. J. Taylor Con-
struction Company for tine construction of Storm Sewers No. 10-A
and 14, prior to ',larch lst, 1932, under contract dated November 19,
1931, and on motion of Commissioner Pafford same was approved by the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey,
Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (U) Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 4139.
A protest was presented against the re -zoning of the Dr. iviiiier
properties bounded by Santa Fe Avenue, Fifth Street, South Street
and Prescott Avenue.
On motion, same was ordered filed and the matter taken under
advisement pending re ceipt of recommendation from the City Planning
Commission.
Commissioner 'Morey moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to sign the release of bonds written for the home Plumbing
Company and the United Telephone Company, by the Southern Surety
Company, cancelling these bonds as of February 21st, 1932.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending sub -section 17 of Section 9 of Ordinance lvo. 4120
relating to gas pipe and piping for natural or artificial gas and
the fittings, device and connections appurtenant thereto, as amended
by Section of Ordinance No. 4126 and repealing said original sub-
section as amended."
On motion, same was referred to the hoard of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and prohibiting the location of drive-in -
gasoline filling stations on certain portions of certain streets in
the City of Salina and repealing certain ordinances."

On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented relating to the violation of Leauty
Shops in the residential section of the City of Salina. Sarre was
ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving of Kirwin Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to the Railroad
right-of-way on Fourth Street. Same was ordered filed.
A remonstrance was presented against the paving of Jewell
Avenue from Ninth Street west to highland Circle. Same was ordered
filed.
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
