02-15-1932 Minutes470 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. CONUv1ISSIONERS ROOM, r SALINA, KANSAS. FEBRUARY 15: 1932. I Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, February 15, 1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was i called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 8th, 1932, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain. claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4135. i An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance prohibiting the use of the streets in the City of Salina, or any part thereof for parking zones or loading or unloading stations for busses and stages and repealing Ordinances No. 3420, 3895 and 3934." On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance defining a misdemeanor and providing a penalty for the violation thereof." i On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Applications for Pool Hall License for the first half of 1932 j received from: W. A. Wilhelm (The Smoker) The Rex Smoker Matt Price (Lamer Pool Hall) John S. Gordon Geo. Holzmeister. i On motion of Commissioner Pafford license was granted to the above named Pool Hall owners for the first half of 1932. A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of Front Street from Walnut Street south to the Smoky Hill ! River. Same was referred to the City Engineer. I The following communication was received from the City Planning Commission: It Salina, Kansas. February 11, 1932. The City Planning Commission met in regular session in the Chamber of Commerce Rooms at 5:00 P. M. All members present. i The petition for re -zoning Lots 3, 5 and 7, Block 40 Surveyors Plat 10, and Lots 9 and 11, Clodfelter's Replat from A to B residence zone, was presented by Mr. Spradley and others. The Commission, hav- ing announced this to be an open meeting on this re -zoning, after listening to interested parties both for and against the petition declined to take any action at this time, but voted to table any proposition until February 18, at which time another open meeting would be announced to hear further discussion on this petition. Since the petitioners in presenting their ?_dans for development of this tract do not conform in their front line set back, of adjac- ent property, the Secretary was instructed to return the plans to the petitioners with this information indicated. The Secretary was also instructed to notify all interested parties of the open meeting of February 18, for discussion of this project. In the matter of re -zoning additional lots of the Dr. Miller properties on South Santa Fe from A to B residence zoning. No action was taken on this this. In response to a petition for tee-zoning all of Block 2, Hansen's Court, and Lot 15, Block 2, Fruitland Addition, and'lot 7. Block 5, East Salina Addition, and Lots 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8, Surveyor's Plat 8, North of Iron Avenue, to Light Industrial. The Planning Commission felt they did not have adequate information on this, therefore., de- clined to take action until further information was secured. Commission adjourned at 6:45. (Signed) F. L.
