SALINA KANSAS.
JANUARY 25, 1932.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, January 25,
1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Benfield absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 18, 1932, were
read and approved
as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for and 7authorizing the appropriation and trans-
fer of certain unexpended balances or portions thereof, in certain
funds or sub -divisions or departments of the General Fund, to an
account designated as the Unexpended Balance account of the General
Fund, and authorizing and directing the transfer of certain amounts
from said Unexpended Balance Account to certain other sub -divisions of
the General Fund."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and
Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Benfield absent. Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 4132.
A petition was presented asking for the laying of a sidewalk
across University Street at Chicago Street, east side of Chicago
Street. Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of
Ohio Street from Iron Avenue to Gypsum Avenue. Same was ordered filed.
The following communication was received from the City Chemist:

Salina,
Kansas.
Gentlemen:
This is simply to suggests owing to the depressed
economic conditions existing, that the fee for registration of cows
in the City of Salina be waived for one year beginning on the date
this matter meets with the approval of the City Commissioners.

On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners'
