JANUARY 18, 1932.
Regiilar meeting of the Board of Commissioners, January 18,
1932. Meeting was called to order b Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, enfield, Pafford and SpEeth
and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 11, 1932, were
read and approved as read.
Commissioner Pafford moved that the permit of the State Highway
Commission for the erection of a building on North Third Street be
granted as applied for. Motion carried.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson., Benf-teld, Pafford and
Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 4130.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 3482, as now amended
by Ordinance No. 3865, relating to the location of gasoline filling
stations on certain streets in the City of Salinas and repealing
said original sections."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford
and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 4131.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for and authorizing the appropriation and transfer
of certain unexpended balances or portions thereof, in certain funds
or sub -divisions or departments of the General Rund to an account desig-
nated as the Unexpended Balance Account of the'General Fund, and
authorizing and directing the transfer of certain amounts from said
Unexpended Balance Account to certain other sub -divisions of the
General Fund."
On motion of Commissioner Benfield same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
