I COM1IISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 7, 1931.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December 7, 1931.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called
and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attor-
ney Norris responded. Commissioner Benfield absent.
' The minutes of the Regular Ivieeting of November 30, 1931, were _
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and
Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Benfield absent. Mayor approved
the same and isnumbered 4121.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction
of Storm Sewers No. 10-A and 14 in the City of Salina, and providing
for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending
the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
Gas Fitters Bond received from The Kansas Pipe Line & Gas Com-
pany and the Stauffer Hardware Company, and on motion of Commissioner
Pafford same were approved by the Board of Commissioners.

The following communication was received from G. G. Needler:
Salinas Kansas. Dec. 7th, 1931.
To the l~layor and Commissioners,
Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
About two months ago I
g paid $5.00 for a sidewalk license,
and have not been able to get a bond. As I have not done any work,
I would respectfully ask that the amount I paid be refunded to me.

On motion, license fee of y5.00 was refunded to G. G. Needler.
Sign application No. 50, asking for sign at 135 North Santa Fe
Avenue, in front of Haberlein Clothing Company, was received, and on
motion of Commissioner Morey same was approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners.

Sign application No. 51 asking for sign at 106 North Santa Fe
Avenue, in front of Gibbs Clothing Store, was received, and on motion
of Commissioner Pwlorey same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Morey moved that time for filing plans and specifi-
cations and estimate of cost for the excavating, curbing and paving of
North Street -from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line
of Fifth Street, be extended to December 21st, 1931. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner §paeth the Board of Commissioners ad-
journed.
