COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
NOVEMBER 23, 1931.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November 23,
1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and commissioners Stevenson, Morey, and Pafford and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners Benfield and Spaeth
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 16th, 1931;
Regular meeting of November 18th, 1931; and Adjourned Meeting of
liovember 19th, 1931, were read and approved as read.
Application No. 48, asking for sign in front of J. C. Penney
Store, located at 140-142 aouth Santa Fe Avenue, was received, and
on motion of Commissioner Pafford same was granted by the Board of
Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution ratifying
a certain agreement dated January 19th 1931, between The Western
Star Mill Company, The United Power & Light Corporation, and the City
of Salina, Kansas, relating to a dam across the Smoky Hill xiver at
the Western Star Mill."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the resolution was read and
adopted as read, and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Pafford
(3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Spaeth absent. Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 522.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages numbered
175 and 176 of Resolution Book Number 2.
Commissioner Pafford moved that the Salina Civic Music Associa-
tion be given free use of the Memorial Hall, December 8th, 1931,
proceeds to be used for the unemployed of the city of Salina. Motion
carried.
On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
