Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October 12,
1931. Meeting was called to order b9 Mayor 6tevenson, the roll
was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth

and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Benfield absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 5, 1931 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and limiting the parking of vehicles on cer-
tain streets in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford
and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Benfield absent. Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 4112.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the abandonment of the proceedings for the
condemnation by the City of Salina of certain private property for
the purpose of opening and widening North Street east of the inter-
section of North Street and Santa Fe Avenue in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the resolution was adopted
as read, and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol-
lowing vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth
(4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Benfield absent. Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 519. Said resolution is recorded in full on
Page 170 of Resolution Book No. 2.

The following communication was received from the City Plan-
ning Commission:
Chamber of Commerce, 5:00 P. M., October 8, 1931. Present:
Dyar, Shaver, McCarty and Bren. Presiding: Mr. F. S. Dyar. Mr.
Bayne, Building Inspector, present.
This was the regular monthly meeting for the purpose of
taking up the business of the commission.
Communications were presented. The first one being a petition
for the rezoning to a commercial zone of Lot 120 Park street,
Weaver's Addition, being located at the northeast corner of Park
and Thirteenth.
This matter having consideration, a motion was made and duly
seconded that the application for rezdning as requested be rejected.
This application in connection with the petition for the
rezoning of Lot 2, Block 7, Pacific Addition, from Commercial to

''fight Industrial was considered, and on motion being duly seconded
it was recommended that a special permit be granted to H. Grethen
to use the location as set out in the petition for the purpose desired
and if not favorably acted upon by the City Commission that the
property in question be rezoned to light industrial district for the
particular use as set out in the petition, and in case it should be
discontinued for this use that it revert back to its original zone.
In co nnection with the request of Crist Price for the build-
ing of a frame structure at 210 East Pacific Street, a motion was
made and seconded, that the request be referred to the Building In-
spector and that in the Inspector granting this permit that the
regulations be carried out as set out in Section 3 of Ordinance No.
3632$ in regards to structures in the commercial zone on East Pacific
Street.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.

Commissioner Pafford moved that same be adopted and that a
I special permit be granted to H. Grethen for the erection of a Marble
Works at the southwest corner of Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific Street,
same being Lot 2, Block ?, Pacific Addition. Motion adopted.
