09-08-1931 Minutes436 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, f _ SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 8, 1931. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 8, 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Otevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey and Pafford and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Spaeth absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 31, 1931, were read and approved as read. I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." f On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey and Pafford (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4101. 1Y1r. T. D. Fitzpatrick appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked for the exclusion of the Skagg tract of about ten acres from the City limits, and on motion of Commissioner Morey the City Attorney was instructed to prepare ordinance, and on roll callmotion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, and Morey (3) Nays: Pafford (1) Commissioner Spaeth absent. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending ordinance No. 3188 being an ordinance dividing the City of Salina into zones or districts and regulating and restricting the location of trades and industries and the uses of lands in such districts or zones and defining additional commercial districts or zones." -- i On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey and Pafford (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4102. Street Excavating Bond as provided by Ordinance No. 3644 re- ceived from L. F. Woodhull, and on motion of C m=issioner Pafford same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Pafford moved that the City Manager be instruct- ed to receive bids on one car of bridge planks. Commissioner Benfield moved that the application of Wm. Kier for special permit for market on North Fifth Street be denied. Commissioner Morey moved that the City Attorney be instructed to notify Mr. J. J. Vanier of Salina Terminal Elevator Company to en- close building in sheet iron as per agreement, or that action will be started for removal of building. On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk�
