07-13-1931 MinutesFla COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 138 1931 Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 13, 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 6, 1931, and Adjourned Meeting of July 7, 1931, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing certain water and sewer service pipes in a certain street in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Pafford same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Application No. 19 for a sign, south of Iron Avenue, 175 feet east of Iowa Street, was received from Stiefel Bros. & Company. Commissioner Spaeth moved that same be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried. Application No. 2, for sign on Lot No. 1, Block 5, Chicago Addition, was received from Stiefel Bros. & Company. Commissioner Pafford moved that same be granted if made to comply with the ordinance. Motion carried. I Application No. 39, for sign on the south fifteen feet of Lot No. 63 on North Santa Fe Avenue, received from C. M. Sparks. Commissioner Morey moved that same be granted. Motion carried. Application No. 40, for sign on Lot No. 12, burveyors Plat No. 8, on East Iron Avenue, received from Kansas Landscape and Nursery Company. Commissioner Benfield moved that same be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried. Mayor Stevenson appointed A. C. Brodine as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Salina Memorial Hall, for a term of three years from April 1, 1931, and on motion of Commissioner Morey appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Stevenson appointed Mrs. W. B. (Mac) Stevenson as a member of the Board of Directors of the Salina Public Library, to fill vacancy caused by the death of Mrs. T. L. Bond, her term of office to have expired February 10 1933, and on motion of Commissioner Morey appoint,ent was confirmed by the Board of Com- missioners. On motion of Commissioner Pafford the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerks
