06-29-1931 Minutes1 1 1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. j Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 29th, 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 22, 1931 and Regular Meeting of June 23, 1931, were read and approved as read. i Trust Deed, with a deposit of $100.00, received from C. B. Dodge, Executor of the Estate of Louise I. Dodge, deceased. I Commissioner Pafford moved that same be accepted by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the same in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance No. 3530 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering North Street from the west line of Twelfth Street to the east line ofMrteenM Otreet in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Benfield same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Twelfth Street from the north lihe of North Street to the south line of Lincolntreet in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Pafford moved that the City Manager be authorized to make settlement with the Ahrens -Fox Fire Engine Company of Cin- cinnati, Ohio, as per agreement submitted by the Company. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading and read in full entitled: "An ordinance granting the Kansas Pipe Line & Gas Company, a Kansas corporation, operating a pipe line system for the conveyance of natural gas in excess of fifteen miles in length, its s�xccessors and assigns, the right, permission and authority to con- struct, maintain and operate a system of mains, pipes, services and other appliances i:},upon, over, across and along the streets, avenues, alleys, bridges and public places of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the transmission, distribution and sale of gas for lighting, heating, industrial and other uses." On motion of Commissioner Pafford same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners ad- journed to meet in Regular Session, Wednesday, July 1, 1931 at 3:00 P. M. C y er
