06-22-1931 Minutes407 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. � I COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 22, 1931. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 22, 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 15, 1931, and Regular Meeting of June 17, 1931, were read and. approved as read. The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of: Twelfth Street from Lincoln Avenue to North Street. North Street from Twelfth Street to 'Thirteenth Street, were received, and on motion of Commissioner Spaeth Monday, June 293 1931 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a special meeting, at which time the reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice of said meet- ing in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopt- ed. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, gut- tering and paving improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notds to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Benfield same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of paving'Fairdale Road from the end of the existing 'ock paving at the south line of of 12, 4, Country Club Heights Addition to the north line of Overhill Road in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, to pay the cost of paving GreenwayRoad from the south line of Crestview Drive to the northline of uverhill Road in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Pafford same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of paving Overhi 1 Road from the south line of Crestview Drive to the east line o reen.way Road ih the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth sane was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Application for erection of 'a sign received from Ross Bratton, Rnd on roll call same was denied by the following vote; Ayes: (0) ays: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (5) 408 An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance granting to the Kansas Pipe Line and Gas Company, a Kansas corporation, operating a pipe line system for the convey- ance of natural gas in excess of fifteen miles in length, its successors, the right, permission and authority to construct, maintain and operate a system of mains, pipes, services and other appliances in, upon, over, across and along the streets, avenues, alleys, bridges and public places of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the transmission, distribution and sale of gas for lighting, heating, industrial and other uses." The ordinance was thereupon read in full. On motion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Pafford the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in Regular session Tuesday, June 23, 1931 at 1:30 P. M. ___62 x5L_� City Clerk.
