06-17-1931 Minutes406 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 17, 1931. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 17, 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts numbered 165 and 166, and relatingto j and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments."- On ssessments." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4076. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, to pay the cost of paving the alley lying between Fourth Street and Fifth Street from the south- line of Ash Street to a point 200 feet north of the north line of Iron Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and pay- ment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote wag had; Ayes: Stevenson,,Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4077. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering the south side of Jewell Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of TenEH 9treet in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4078. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Penn Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Gypsum Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth '(3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4079. i Commissioner Morey moved that the City Manager be authorized to make settlement with Ahrens -Fox Fire Engine Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, for balance due on pumper, subject to the approval of the 3 Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners adjourned. i City Clerk.
