02-09-1931 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. FEBRUARY 90 1931. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissione-s. February 9, 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dodds, the roll was called and Commissioners Dodds, Stevenson and Moore and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the xegular Meeting of February 2, 1931 were read and approved as read. Commissioner Moore moved that Salina Tractor and Implement Club be given right to hold tractor and implement show on Fifth Street between Iron Avenue and Walnut Street, on March 17 and 18, 19312 provided ample room is left in front of other places of business for conducting such business, and that ample room is left in the street for emergency traffic, and that said street be not used for such purpose next year. On roll call the motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dodds and Moore (2) Nays: Stevenson (1). Mr. C. E. VanVoorhees made application for pop corn stand to be located on the south side of the Farmers National Bank Building. Commissioner Stevenscn moved that license be granted provided Mr. VanVoorhees file in the office of the City Clerk a written con- sent from the property owner thereto. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Moore the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds, Stevenson and Moore (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4018. A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and sanding of the 900 block on Spruce Street from College Avenue to the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks. Same was referred to the City Manager. Mayor Dodds appointed C. F. McAdams, and T. D. Fitzpatrick as members of the Library Board for a term of four years from February 1, 1931. Appointments confirmed by the Board of Commis- sioners. Mr. L. J. Ashton asked permission to reconstruct stairway in basement at his place of business on the corner of Fifth Street and Iron Avenue, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson permission was gra3tt ed . A report was filed from the Salina Public Library. tame was ordered filed. i An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of certain storm sewers in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewers No. 21, 23 and 22, and providing for the issuing of Improvement Bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Moore same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
