01-26-1931 Minutes350- COI&ISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. C0181ISSIONERS ROOM, ' SALINA, KANSAS. JANUARY 26, 1931. f Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, January 26, ! 1931. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dodds, the roll was ! called and Commissioners Dodds, Stevenson and Moore and City Attorney f Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 19, 1931 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read j and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds, Stevenson and Moore ! (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4013. Mr. J. R. Geis submitted his resignation as a member of the Waterworks Advisory Board, by reason of his being appointed as a member of the Board of Public Works. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson resignation was accepted by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Moore submitted the name of Roy M. Heath as a member of the Waterworks Advisory BQard to fill vacancy caused by resignation of J. R. Geis. Appointment confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. An application was received from T. A. Williams to move a building across the Iron Avenue Bridge. Said building to be moved from 131 South Fourth Street to the corner of Delaware and Johnstown. Commissioner Stevenson moved that permission be granted if ! moving be done at night. i A special permit was asked by Louis Serrault for the con- struction of a building with a 16 foot setback from front of property line, and on motion of Commissioner Moore permit was granted. An application was received from C. E. Voorhis for a Popcorn Stand on Iron Avenue near the Farmers National Bank, and on motion the matter was deferred. i City Engineer was instructed to make an estimate for repair- ing the approach on Ohio Street bridge. A petition was presented asking for the location of astreet light at the intersection of Penn Avenue and Smoky Hill Dirve. Same was referred to the City 14anager. j I A petition was presented asking for the location of a street light on Third Street south of Mulberry Street, game was referred i to the City 'anager.
