Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Dodds, the roll I was called and Commissioners Dodds and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Helvering absent. � The minutes of the Special Meeting of 14ovember 24, 1930 and Regular Meeting of November 24, 1930 were read and approved as read. i An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3987• City Engineer submitted Estimate No. 2 to R. C. Snyder for the construction of Lateral Sewers 5, 144, 145, 149, and 162, and Storm Sewer No. 19, under contract dated October 13, 1930, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3988. City Engineer submitted Estimate No. 1 to R. C. Snyder for the construction of Lateral Sewers No. 163 and 164, under contract dated October 27, 1930; and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Taylor Construct- ion company for the construction of Storm Sewers No. 17 and 18, under contract dated April 7, 1930; and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was approved by the Board of Uommissioners. { j An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." Acting Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3991. 1 11 1 1 1 An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $88,392.58 to pay the cost of constructing certain storm sewers in said City." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the City Clerk was instruct- ed to advertise for the sale of $88,392.58 Public Improvement Bonds, bids to be received up to and including Monday. December 15, 1930 at 4:00 P. M. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewers in Lateral Sewer Districts numbered 5, 144, 145, 149, 162 and 164, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Stevenson moved that contract for the construction of certain sidewalks as provided for in Ordinance Number 3970 be awarded to W. J. Saum, as per his bid submitted November 24, 1930s and that certified check be returned to unsuccessful bidder. Motion adopted.
