COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
OCTOBER 130 1930.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October 13,
1930. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll
was called and Commissioners Helvdring, Dodds, and Stevenson and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 6, 1930 were
read acid approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
�'An ordinance amending Section 7 of Ordinance No. 3963, relating
to and creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer dis-
tricts in the City of Salina dn.d providing for the construction of
lateral sewers therein."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the followinvote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven
son (3) Nays: Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3969.
Bids for the construction of certain sewers as advertised
for were received from:
R. C. Snyder, Salina, Kansas.
H. J. Taylor Construction Co., Salina, Kansas.
City Engineers estimate for the above work was read.
Commissioner Dodds moved that contract be awarded to R. C.
Snyder as per his bid submitted, and that certified check be re-
turned to unsuccessful bidder. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a
sanitary sewer in Johnstown Avenue between Columbia Avenue and
Ash Street. Same was referred to the City Engineer.
Trust Deed with deposit of $75.00 was received from Rev.
R. H. Mize.
Commissioner Stevenson moved that same be accepted by the
&ward of Commissioners, and that the City Treasurer be authorized
to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Endowment Fund as
provided by Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for and requiring the construction of certain
sidewalks along certain streets in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
B®md of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer
districts in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sewer Dis-
tricts No. 163 and 1642 providing for the construction of lateral
sanitary sewers in such districts and for the cost thereof and
for the levying of special assessments against the property in such
districts for the payment of such cost, and for the issuing of
bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the
Burd of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An
w ordinance providing for the construction of a certain storm sewer
or drain in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewer No.
20, and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds to pay the

! cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Bo,;rd
of Commissioners.
