COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
SEPTEMBER 22, 1930.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 22,
1930. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was
called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City
Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 15, 19302
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3961.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the construction of a certain stDrm sewer in
the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewer Number 19, and
providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds to pay the cost
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3962.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer dis-
tricts in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral Sewer Districts
No. 144, No. 145, No. 149, No. 162 and No. 5, providing for the con-
struction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers in such districts and for the
cost thereof, and for the levying of special assessments against the
property in such districts for the payment of such cost, and for the
issuing of bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3963.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to the appropriation of private property for the
opening, widening and extending of North Street east of the inter-
section of North Street and Santa Fe Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3964.
A petition was presented asking for the extension of the two-
hour parking on both sides of Eighth Street from Iron Avenue to
Ash Street. Same was ordered filed.
City Manager was instructed to have all taxicabs checked.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewers in
Lateral Sewer Districts numbered 147 and 160, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
