COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR ITEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 27th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
27th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering,
the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 19th, 1927
were read and approved as read.
Estimate of C. A. Haskins, dated December 17th, 1927, on
Sewage Disposal Plant was read.
Commissioner Campbell moved that action on final estimate
be reserved until after conference with Mr. Haskins. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for and requiring the payment of an
occupation tax by all persons selling gasoline at retail in the
City of Salina from gasoline filling stations, curb pumps,
gasoline tank wagons or otherwise; fixing the amount of such
occupation tax and providing penalties for the violation of
this ordinance."
Commissioner Campbell moved that ordinance be read and
adopted by sections.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Section 1 was read and
adopted as read, and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0)
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Section 2 was read and
Commissioner Campbell moved that Section 2 be amended as to
filling stations to read §20.00 for one pump and 010.00 for each
additional pump.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds Section 2 as amended, was
read and adopted as read, and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering,
Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0)
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Section 3 was read and
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3 ) Nays: (0 )
On motion of Commissioner Dodds Section 4 was read and
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3 ) Nays: (0 )
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Section 5 was read and
adopted bs read and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the lb llowing vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3), Nays: (0)
On motion of Commissioner Dodds Section 6 was read and
adopted h* read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0)
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Section 7 was read and
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0)
On motion of Commissioner Campbell ordinance was adopted
on final vote as a whole. The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3492.

Motion was made that resolution be prepared for paving
strip in center of street on Ninth Street from North Street
to Lincoln Avenue.
A communication was received from the Chamber of Com-
merce relating to the lease of Chamber of Commerce roams on
the third floor in the City Hall.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, lease was renewed on
same terms, and Mayor was authorized to sign same.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned until
Tuesday, January 3rd, 1928, on account of Monday being a
legal holiday.
