09-26-1927 Minutes02 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR =TING. COMMISSIONERS ROOD., SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 26th, 1927. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 26th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering and Campbell and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Dodds absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 19th, 1927, were read and approved as read., An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Sections 23 and 27 of Ordinance Number 2980 relating to and regulating the business of plumbing, drainage and ventilation of buildings, being Sections 5-423 and 5-427 of the Revised Ordinances of Salina, 1925, and repealing said original sections." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. 11ayor approved the same and is numbered 3464. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the graveling of Sheridan Street from the south line of Crawford Street to e north line of Republic Street." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating the speed of vehicles crossing certain bridges in the Citi of Salina, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance Number 3021, relating to the construction and maintenance of signs, being Section 5-603 of Revised Ordinances 19253, and repealing said original section." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer reported that the south abutment of the Ohio Street Bridge is unsafe. Commissioner Campbell moved that the City Engineer be instructed to place signs notifying the public that the bridge is in an unsafe condition, and that persons using the same do so at their own risk. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, meeting adjourned. City Clerk.
