COMMISSIONNERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COWAISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS
OCTOBER 10th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners. October
10th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Acting 14ayor Camp-
bell, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and Dodds
and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner,-Helvering
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 3rd,
1927 were read and approved as read.
City Engineer submitted the following report:

Gentlemen:
L. W. Rexroad has completed the construction of
pavement and appurtenances under his contract dated April
18th, in a satisfactory manner and I am attaching a copy
of the final estimate and recommending that the work be
accepted and the estimate allowed.
her. Rexroadts contract included five sections. The
County is interested in sections one, two and three only.
These sections total p64,190.56 of which the County is
obligated to pay 30a or a total of $19,257.17. Of this
amount their payments on monthly estimates total $17,455.32,
leaving a balance due from the County of $1,801.85. In
addition to the amount last named, the amount of p2252.19
has been assessed against property in the County, belonging
to the Salina Country Club;- which is to be collected by the
County by special assessments, leaving the amount which the
County should pay on this final estimate $4,054.04.

On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was received and
ordered filed, and the work embodied in report accepted. —.
City Engineers Final Estimate for the construction of
pavement, under contract dated April 18th, 1927, in which the
City and County are jointly interested, was filed and approved
by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Dodds (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Act-
ing Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3475.
City Engineers Final Estimate for the construction of
pavement under contract dated April 18th, 1927, was filed and
approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-

and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Dodds (2 ) Nays: (0 ) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3476.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, gut-
tering and paving of Grand Avenue from the west line of
Santa re "venue to the west line of Twelfth Street. Same was
ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the grading and paving
of Washington Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street to
the west line of Tyrelfth Street. Same was ordered. filed.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, grading
and paving of Grand Avenue from the west line of Santa Fe
Avenue to the west line of Twelfth Street.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the grading and paving of "ashington
Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street to the west line
of Twelfth Street."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering grading
and paving of Ninth Street from the north line of Inez Street
to the south line of Euclid Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners."
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to the United lower &. Light Corporation
the right to distribute and sell natural or artificial gas
in the City of Salina and fixing rates to be charged therefor,
and repealing Section One (1) of Ordinance Number 2852. it
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned.
