09-12-1927 Minutes3900- COMMISSIONERS 95 On motion of Commissioner Dodds the above named petition was referred to the City Manager. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance confirming and ratifying sale of certain real estate by the City of Salina and authorizing the execution and delivery of a warranty deed therefor." On motionofCommissioner Dodds same vias referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Attorney reported favroably on taxicab policy of Lewos Colvin, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same was ordered filed. The Reserve State Bank filed application for permissi on to substitute with the City Treasurer in place of $10,000.00 of Dewitt County, Texas Road Bonds, now held by the Treasurer as security for City deposits in said Bank, 05,000.00 of Clear- water, Florida, Refunding Bonds dated June Ist, 1927 and $5,000.00 of Lake County, Florida Road and Bridge District Number 10, Bonds, dated July 1st, 1927. On motion of Commissioner Dodds, the proposed security was approved, and City Treasurer authorized to accept said bonds and give his receipt therefor. Motion adopted. Commissioner Dodds moved that the Gas Research Committee of the League of Kansas Municipalities be employed to gather the data and prepare for the city a report on the cost of natural gas and gas supplies, as outlined in the attached proposal; for which the city will pay $50.00 now in advance, and not to exceed $50.00 after the report is filed and on the presentation of the proper claim. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a contract with the Gas Research Committee of the League of Kansas Municipalitteg, in accordance with the provisions of this motion. Elof Lundberg appeared before the Board of Commissioners and made application to vacate fifteen (15) feet on the east side of Sherman Street from Frost Street to Franklin Street. I i COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 12th, 1927. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 12th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Campbell absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 1st, 1927 were read and approved a8 read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $158,881.96 to pay the cost of improving certain streets and constructing certain main and lateral sanitary sewers and con- structing certain storm sewers in said City. On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Dodds (2) Nags: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3461.
