An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinange mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roil was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 3441.
Engineers Estimate Number 3 for constructing pavement under
contract date of April 18th, 1927 was presented and approved by
the Board of Commissioners.

AUGUST lat, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, August 1st,
1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll
was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 25th, 1927, were
read and approved as read.
The recommendation of the City Planning Commission to
include certain territory in the Southern Heights Addition was
presented and on motion of Commissioner Campbell the same was
tabled.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Ordinance Number 3188 by adding dRrtain
lands to the "C" Commercial District as defined therein.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.`,
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the -roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3438.
Engineer's Estimate Number 7 for the construction of Sewage
Disposal Plant was presented and approved by the Board of Com-
missioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
Fidelity National
an appropriation out of funds on deposit in the
Bank and Trust Company."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roil was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3439.

approved by the Board of Commissioners.

bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 3446.
The report of the appraisers for the condemnation of a
certain lot for the opening of Eleventh Street south of Park
Street was presented.
Commissioner Dodds motioned that the report of the ap-
prausers be rejected. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced for first reading concerning
appraisers report for the opening of Eleventh Street south of
Park Street. Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An agreement between the Union Pacific Railroad and the
City of Salina for the operation of an 8" sewer line under the
railroad across the right of way of said Railroad Company in the
alley between Minneapolis and Ellsworth Streets in the City of
Salina, Kansas." was presented and on motion same was referred to
the City Attorney.
Bids as advertised for was received for the sale of bonds
from the Planters State Bank as follows:
For the $4956.11 bonds dated January 1st, 1927, will
pay $5,000.00 and accrued interest.
For the X814.96 Sewer Bonds of same date will pay
$822.00 and accrued interest to date.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the bid of the Planters
State Bank was accepted.
A petition was presented asking for the paving of Ninth
Street from north line of Inez Avenue to the north line of Euclid
Avenue, and onmotion of Commissioner Campbell same was ordered
filed.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, meeting adjourned.
