JULY 15th, 1927.
Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 15th, 1927.
Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Campbell, the roll was
called and Commissioners Campbell and Dodds and,City Attorney
Norris responded. Commissioner Helvering absent.
Meeting was held for the purpose of hearing any and all
complaints that may be made by property owners as to the valuation
placed on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
Kansas, on which to base the cost of curbing, guttering and
paving:
SOUTH STREET from College Avenue to Montrose Avenue;
MONTROSE AVENUE from South Street to Morrison Avenue;
MINNEAPOLIS AVENUE from anta Fe Avenue to Osborne Street;
TWELFTH STREET From Iron -Avenue to Walnut Street;
INEZ AVENUEfrom Ninth Street, west 660 feet;
NINTH STREET from Otis Avenue to Inez Avenue;
for the paving of:
BELOIT AVENUE from Ninth Street to Highland Circle;
CRESTVIEW DRIVE from Marymount Road to Hilldale Road;
EAST PARK LANE from Crestview Orive to Country Club Road;
WEST PARK LANE from Crestview Drive to Country Club Road;
for the curbing and guttering of:
CHICAGO STREET from Ash Street to Park street;
REPUBLIC AVENUE from Fifth Street to Osborne Street (on the
south side of Republic) and Second street (on the north side of
Republic).
The appraisers report for the curbing, guttering and paving
of South Street from College Avenue to Montrose Avenue was taken
up and read as f ollows:

We, John Frederick, Ralph A. Smith and Alex Berg, being
duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, does
hereby sglemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate in the
City of a line , Kansas, and is disinterested in any of the property
liable to special assessment for the cost of curbing, guttering and
paving South Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, from the west
line of College Avenue to the east line of Montrose Avenue in said
City, as more particularly described and provided for in Ordinance
Number 3383 of the City of Salina; and that each of as will to the
best of our judgment and ability make a true and imls rtial appraise-
ment of all the lots and pieces of ground abutting on such respect+=:
ive street a s above described without regard to the buildings or
improvements thereon, for the distance to be improved as set forth
and designated by the Board of Commissioners in said Ordinance
Number 3383 of the City of Salina. So help as God.

The appraisers report for the grading and paving of East Park
lane from Crestview Drive to Country Club Road was taken up and
read as follows:

We, John Frederick, Ralph A. Smith and Alex Berg, being
duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself,
does hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and is disinterested in any of the
property liable to special.assessment for the cost of grading and
paving East Park lane from the north line of Crestview Drive to
the south line of Country Club Road in said City as more particu-
larly described and provided for in Ordinance Number 3393 of the
City of Salina; and that each of as will to the best of our
judgment and ability make a true and impartial appraisement of all
the lots and pieces of ground abutting on such respective street
as above described without regard to the buildings or improvements
thereon, for the distance to be improved as set forth and desig-
nated by the Board of Commissioners in said Ordinance Number 3393.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: j
"An ordinance defining and establishing a parking zone for
busses and stages on Ash Street in the City of Salina, prohib-
iting the parking of other vehicles in said zone and repealing
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2173.11
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Ten-year maintenance bond of H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the paving of Eleventh Street from Elm street to
Bishop Street was presented and approved by the Board of
Commissioners.
Construction and Maintenance Bonds of H. J. Taylor Con-
struction Company for paving contract awarded June 28th, 1927
were presented and approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Construction and Maintenance Bonds of L. W. Rexroad for
paving contract awarded awarded June 28th, 1927 were presented
and approved by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds meeting adjourned.
