JULY 11th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 11th,
1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll
was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds respond-
ed. City Attorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 5th, 1927 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the city of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing and guttering, excavet-
Ing, grading and paving Cra ford Avenue from the east line of
Tenth Street to the east line of the Missouri Pacif is Railroad
Right-of-way in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to apd
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its S nal adoption the roll was called
and the fbllowing vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3416.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of grading and paving Country Club
Road from the east line of Marymount Road to the west line of
ffETI—dale Road in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to pnd
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the Hollowing vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3417.
An ordinance was introduced for second re-ading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing and guttering, e xcavat-
Ing, grading and paving Pacific Street from the east line of
Santa Fe Avenue to the center line—o-f-"Front Street in Salina, Kansas
and relating to and providing for the collection and pW ment of
such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its finals doption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3418.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the Uity of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Main Sanitary
Sewers in Main Sewer Districts "N" and '10% and relating to apd
providing for the collection and payment of .such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled%
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing iteral Sanitary
Sewers in Lateral Sewer Districts Nos. 129, 130, 132, 1339 134, 135
and 1402 and relatin§ to and providing for the collection and paymert
of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
The appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering and
paving of:
SOUTH STREET from College Avenue to Montrose Avenue;
MONTRO SE AVENUE from South Street to Morrison Avenue;
MINNEAPOLIS AVENUE from Santa Fe venue to Osborne Street;
TWELFTH STREET from Iron Avenue to Walnut street;
INEZ AVENUE from Ninth Street, west 660 feet;
NINTH STREET from Otis Avenue to Inez Avenue;
for the paving of:
BETA IT AVENUE from Ninth Street to Highland Circle;
CRESTVIEW DRIVE from Marymount Road to Hilldale Road;
EAST PARK LANE from Crestview Drive to Country Club Road;
WEST PARK LANE from Crestview Drive to Country Club Road;
for the curbing and guttering of:
CHICAGO STREET from Park Street to Ash Street;
REPUBLIC AVENUE from Fifth Street to Osborne (on the south
side of Republic) and Second Street (on the north side of Republic
Avenue) ,)
were received, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds, Friday, July
15th, 1927 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a special meeting, at
which time the appraisers reports will be taken up and acted upon
by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice
in the official city paper as provided by law.
City Clerk was instructed to give notice to property owners
on the above mentioned streets to connect their premises with
water, sewer and gas in advance of paving, as provided by ordinance.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, meeting adjourned until
July 15th, 1927 at 5:00 P. M.
