COMMS SIONERS PROCEEDINGS , REGULAR MEETING.

JUNE 20th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 20th
1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the rolf
was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 13th, 1927,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.[?
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the f5 llowing vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3391.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving of
Crestview Drive from the west line of Marymount Road to the west
line of Hilldale Road, and providing for the cost thereof, how
the same shall be assessed and the manner of In yment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3392.
An ordinance was introducwd for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving of
East Park Lane from the north line of Crestview Drive to the
so-uth line oY Country Club Road, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0)" The Mayor approved the some and is num-
bared 3393.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
��An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving of
West Park Lane from the north line of Crestview Drive to the
south line of Country Club Road, and providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment
therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3394.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Twelfth Street from the south line of
Iron Avenue to the north line o Wa nut Street, and providing
for the cost thereof how the same shall be assessed and the manner
of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3395.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the trimming of trees, and removal of
dead trees and of dead branches or limbs of trees in the City of
Salina, and providing a penalty for the violation of the provisions
of this ordinance, and defining certain nuisances and providing for
the abatement thereof and for assessing the cost thereof."

On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3396.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the appropriationof certain private
property for the opening, widening and extending of North
Street between Ninth and Eleventh Streets."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3397.
A remonstrance was presented protesting against the urbing,
guttering and paving of Gypsum Avenue from Ohio Street to ndiana
Attorney. Avenue. Same was referred to the City
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the qurbing and guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Inez A enue from the west line of Ninth
Street thence west approximately 660 feet to the west city limits,
and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefore it
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
City Commissioners.

ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Ninth Street from the north line of Otis
Avenue to the north line of Inez Avenue, and providing for the
cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Gi • sum Aj enue from the west line of Ohio
Street to the west line of Indiana.Avenues and providing for the
cost thereof, how itthe same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefore,
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain Storm
Sewers in the City of Salina, to be designated as Storm Sewers
Numbers 51, 6 and 7, and providing for the issuing of Improvement
Bonds to pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds sans was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the extension of water
mains on Inez Street from Tenth Street, about 350 feet. Same
was referred to the City Engineer.
City Planning Commission submitted certain recommendations
to the Board of Commissioners, and on motion of Commissioner
Campbell same was ordered filed, and the City Clerk was instructed
to advertise for hearing July 25th, 1927.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, meeting adjourned until
Tuesday, June 21st, 1927 at 5:00 P. Me
