JUNE 13th, 1927.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 13th,
1927. Meeting was called to order by Msyor•Helvering, the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 6th, 1927s
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of
Chicago Street from the north line of Ash Street to the
south line of ark Street, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment
therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering,
Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3388.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of
Columbia Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the
south line of Johnstown Avenue, and providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of pay-
ment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering,
Campbell and. Dodds (3 ) Nays: (0 ) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3389.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering, excavat-
ing grading and paving of Minneapolis Avenue from the east
line of Santa Fe AvenL-a to the west line of usborne Street,
and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hel-
vering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3390.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving
of Crestview Drive from the west line of Marymount Road to
the west line of Hilldale Road, and providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating grading and paving
of East Park Lane from the north line of 6restview Drive to
the south line of Country Club Road, and providing for the
cost thereof', how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners,.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving
of Wiest Park Lane from the north line of Crestview Drive to
the south line of Country Club Road, and providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
An ordinance for the curbing and guttering, excavat-
providing
ing, grading and paving of Twelfth Street from the south line
Of Iron Avenue to the north line of Walnut Street, and providing
for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the
manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the trimming of trees, and removal
of dead trees and of dead branches or limbs of trees in the City
of Salina, and providing a penalty for the violation of the
provisions of this ordinancq, and defining certain nuisances and
providing for the abatement thereof and for assessing the cost
thereof.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the appropriation of certain private
property for the opening, widening and extending of forth Street:
between Anth and Eleventh Streets."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the vacation of the
alley running parallel with Highland Avenue and 150 feet west
of said Highland Avenue from the south side of Ellsworth Avenue
to the north side of Jewell Avenue in the Grounds of Kansas
Wesleyan University.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
The appraisers reports for the curbing and gutteringof
the south side of Country Club Road from Marymount Road to
Hilldale Road;
For the curbing, guttering and paving of Eleventh Street
from Elm Street to Bishop Street; were received, and on motion
of Commissioner Campbell, Monday, June 28th, 1927 at 5:00 P. M.
was designated as a Special 14eeting, at which time the apprais-
ers reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of
Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice in the official
City paper as provided by law.
The appraisers report for the paving of Country Club goad
from Marymount Road to Hilldale Road;
For the curbing, guttering and paving Pacific Street from
Santa Fe Avenue to Front Street;
For the curbing, guttering and paving Crawford Avenue from
Tenth Street to Missouri Pacific Railroad Right -of -Nay;
were received, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds, Monday
June 20th, 1927 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a Specialzeeting
at which time the reports will be taken up and acted. on by the
Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice in
t1te off 9_cial City paper as provided by law.
Sewer Bonds of Eberhardt and Shriver for the construction
of certain Main Sewers and Lateral Sewers, under contract awarded
June 3rd, 1927, were presented, and on motion same were approved
by the Board of Commissioners.
H. E. JoY_nson presented plat and certificate of Replat of
Blocks 4 and 5 in Sunnyside Addition to the City of Salina, and
on motion same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell meeting adjourned.
