JUNE 3rd, 1927.
Adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June
3rd, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the
roll was called and Commisd oners Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
Proposals filed with the City Clerk for constructing
certain lateral sewers and main sewers, ad advertised for were
received from:
L. W. Rexroad, Salina, Kansas,
Eberhardt & Shriver, Salina, Kansas.
Ray G. Tripp Construction Co., Herington, Kansas.
C. T. Snyder, Salina, Kansas.
H.J.Taylor Construction Co., Salina, Kansas.
The City Engineers detailed estimate of the cost of the
foregoing improvements, as heretofore $ led with the City
Clerk, was presented and read by the City Clerk.
Commissioner Dodds moved that the bid of H. J. Taylor
Construction Company, and Eberhardt and Shriver be retained,
and that the other bids be rejected, and that the certified
checks deposited by the unsuccessful bidders be returned to
them by the City Clerk. Motion carried.
The Commissioners carefully checked the two vids that
were retained and on motion of Commissioner Campbell the
contract was awarded to Eberhardt and Shriver as per their
bid submitted, said contract to be completed not later than
September lst, 1927.
Commissioner Campbell moved that certified check deposit-
ed. by H. J. Taylor Construction Company be returned. Motion
carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance confirming and ratifying a contract for the
building and construction of certain main sewers and certain
lateral sewers in the City of Salina and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof as the
work progresses., pending the issuance and sale of bonds for the
payment of the cost thereof as provided by law."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, meeting adjourned.
