COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA# KANSAS.
APRIL 25th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, April 25th,
1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 18th, 1927
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:,
"An ordinance vacating a certain alley in the city of Salina.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by'sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 3361.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the curb-
ing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Pacific Street
from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the center line of
Front Street in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and condirming a contract for the
curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Crawford
Avenue from Tenth Street to the east line of Missouri 79—cific
R g t -of -way in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the grading
and paving of CountrZ Club Road from the end of the existing
pavement at intersection of 'Uoantry Club Road with Marymount
Road, thence east 1880 feet to the corporate limits at Hilldale
Road. u
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the w --
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the curbing
and guttering of the south side of Country Club Road from the
east line of Marymount Road to the west line of Hilldale Road
in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the curbing,
guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Eleventh Street
from the north line of Elm Street to the south 1 ne of Bishop
Street in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the construction and re -construction of
certain sidewalks, and the condemnation of certain existing
sidewalks."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the keeping of chickens and other
domestic fowl in the City of Salina, defining certain misdemean?-
ors, defining certain nuisance and providing for the abatement
thereof, and providing a penalty for the violation of this
ordinance.

On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of
an are light at the corner of Elm Street and Third Street.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of
a sanitary sewer reaching from Crawford Street to Prescott
Avenue running along the alley between Montrose and Phillips
Streets. Same was referred to the City Engineer.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of
a sanitary sewer on Eleventh Street south of Crawford Street.
Same was referred to the City Engineer.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and gut-
tering of Chicago Street from Park Street to Ash Street.
Same was ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving GUpsum Avenue from the west side of Ohio Street to
the east side of stac cws Mdition on Gypsum Avenue. Same was
referred to the City Manager.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Chicago
Street from the south line of Park Street to the nortH-I-ine
of -Ash 'Etreet."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Helvering appointed L. C. Webb as a member of the
Board of Trustees of the Memorial Hall for a term of three
years commencing April 16th, 1927.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds appointment was confirmed
by the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Helvering appointed F. L. Reynolds and Mrs. D. R.
Moore as members of the City Planning Commission for a term
of three years commencing May 2nd, 1927.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the appointments were
confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell meeting adjourned.
