04-08-1927 Minutes289 COMMISSIO:P%'RS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COT,%IISSIOIVERS ROOM SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 4th , 1927. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, April 4th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 28th, 1927, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.'" On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The IVlayor approved the same and is numbered 3353. Consulting Engineer submitted Estimate Number 3 for the erection of Sewage Disposal Plant in the City of Salina, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation out of funds on deposit in the Fidelity rational Bank and Trust Company." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote ics had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the some and is num- bered 3354. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaludoption the roll was called and the following; vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Payor approved the same and is numbered 3355. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance Number 3317 relating to the parking of vehicles on certain_ streets and repealing said original Section l." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (C) The Mayor approved tl-e same and is num- berdd 3356. A resolution was introduced for second reading entit:ied: "A heso_lution relating to the curbui_ig, guttering, grading and paving of South Street from the .*gest line of College Avenin: to the east line of Montrose `'venue. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was read and on its final adoption t_1-- roll was called and the following vote -^ras had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) A'iays: (0) she .layorr approved the same and is numbered 408. The above resolution is recorded in full. on Page of Resolution Book Number 2. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance defining a certain misdemeanor and providing penalty for violation thereof." On motion. of Commissioner Lodds same rias referred to the s Board of CoMMI issioners. 290 An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An or dinance relating to the bond and defining the duties of the City Treasurer; providing for the depositing of the public funds.of the City of Salina; designating the depositories of such funds, and repealing Section 6 of Ordinance No. 280, as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance Number 1180, section 9 of Ordinance No. 280 and Section 1 of Ordinance Number 2399, being Sections 6-205, 6-208 and 4-101 of the Revised Ordinances 1925, and any other ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. The Performance Bond and Statutory Bond of C. B. Briscoe for sidewalks and curb returns to be constructed according to contract awarded March 21st, 1927 was approved by the Board of Commissioners, and Maintenance Bond was returned for correction.
