03-14-1927 MinutesC 0181I SSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. I COMMIS SIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARCH 14th, 1927. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, March 14th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 7th, 1927 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for and authorizing the issuance of negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in payment of a certain judgment against said City." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the f ollowin� vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3341. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the construction and re -construction of certain sidewalks along certain streets in the city of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3342. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, grading and paving .of Pacific Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the center line of Front Street, and providing for the cost thereof., how the same shall be paid and assessed, and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp- bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3343. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, grading and paving of Crawford Avenue from the east line of Tenth Street to the east line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad rightof-way and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be paid and assessed, and the manner of payment therefor. it On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 3344. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the grading and paving of a certain street in the City of Salina, commencing at the Section corner common to Sections 73, 8, 17 and 18, Township 14, Range 2 and running thence east 1880 feet to the city limits, -known as County Club Road , and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall N be paid and assessed, and the manner of payment therefor. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 3345. City Engineer filed plans and specifications and estimate of ,cost for construction and reconstruction of sidewalks, also for the increasing radii of street corners. 284 An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of $4956.11 to pay the cost of constructing, installing and equipping certain street lighting systems on certain streets in said City.' On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of $814.96 to pay the cost of constructing a certain lateral storm sewer in said City.n On motion of Commissioner Campbell, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and designating the names of certain unnamed streets in the City of Salina, and changing the names of certain streets therein." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. j A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the north side of Cedar Street west of College Avenue. Same was referred to City Manager. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the north side of Wilson Street, from Fifth Street west about 50 feet. Same was referred to the City Manager. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer on Gypsum Avenue from Columbia Avenue tri nce east to street west of Brick Plant. Same was referred to the City Manager. City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for the construction and re -construction of certain sidewalks; also for the increasing radii of certain street corners. Bids to be received up to and including Monday, March 21st, 1927 at 5:00 P. M. On motion of Commissioner Campbell meeting adjourned. 1erk.
