FEBRUARY 28th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Comrissioners, February
28th, 1927. Meeting was called to order by Po.ayor Helvering,
the roll was called and Co=:issioners Helvering, Campbell and
Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of tl,.e regular Me.eti„g of February 21st, 1927
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.”
On motion of Commisst oner Campbell the ordinance was retia
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll 1•1as
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hely ring, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Iaayor approved the same and
is numbered 3334.
An ordinance -las introduced for second rea::ling entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the appropriation of certain private
propert�y� for the opening, .,,ideniag and extending of Eleventh
Street.
On m otion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll vas
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3335.
An ordinance was introduced for second readinz entitled:
"An ordinance amending Section 4 of Ordinance; Number 3317, entitled
'An ordinance regulating the parking of vehicles on certain
streets in the City of Salina and providing a penalty for the
violation of this ordinances and repealing said original 6ection 4
of said ordinance."
On motion of Commiscioner Dodds the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 3336.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 3093 of the
City of Salina, entitled, "An ordinance providing for the
election of certain city officers of the Cit;; of Salina, and
prescirbing the manner of conducting the same and the manner of
making returns thereof' and repealing said ori„ianl Section 2
of said ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The -layor a;,)proved the same and
is numbered 3337.
The following resolution was introduced:
BE IT IUSOT D by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, That 400 c. p. are lights be installed
at each of the following intersections in the City of Salina:
Fifth Street and Republic Avena�::,
Fifth Street and Bond Street,
Fifth Street and Crawford Avenue.
and that the 60 c. p. lights now at Fifth Street and Crawford
Avenue and Fifth Street and Bond Street be discontinued and
removed, in accordance with the contract with the United rower
and Light Corporation now in effect.
Adopted this 28th day of February 1027.

Commissioner Dodds moved that the resolution be adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Atres: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3)
Nays: (0) Said res6lutionis numbered 407.
The following resolution was introduced:
u'J17R^AS, Andy Logan, after many years of faithful
service to the citizens of the City of Salina, as traffic
officer has resigned his position as a member2 of the Police
Department to return to another field of endeavor, and
WHf'F.AS, his resignation has been acce ted with regret
and the Board of Commissioners of said city desires to express
its appreciation, as well as the appreciation of the citizens
of the City for his long years of service, Novi Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that this expression of regret at his
departure, and of appreciation for his service to the City,
be adopted by the Board of Commissioners, and that a copy of
this resolution be delivered to said Andy Logan by the City
Clerk upon the occasion of his retirement from such service.

Commissioner Campbell moved that the rresolation be adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camrbell and Dodds
(3) Nays: (0) Said resolution is numbered 408.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a
sidewalk on the west side of Ninth Street from Hamilton Avenue to
Antrim Avenue. Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of a
street light on the corner of Park Street and Eleventh Street.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
On motion of Comraiss Toner Campbell meeting adjourned.
