January 24th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 24th,
1927. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll
was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 17th, 1927
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp-
bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3327.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing that certain platted additions or sub -divisions
and certain unplatted tracts of land, which join the present lim-
its of the City of Salina, Kansas be added to, taken into and
made parts of the City of Salina, Kansas; extending the city limits
of said city so as to include such added land; defining the corpo-
rate limits of said city as extended, and repealing all ordinances
or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance .
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Application for taxicab license for the year 1927 was re-
ceived from E. A. Schumaker.
Commissioner Dodds moved that license be granted.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution requesting
the members of the Senate and House of Representatives to sup-
port a certain Bill authorizing cities of the first class against
which judgments have heretofore been rendered in excess of
$50,000.00 to issue bonds to refund same."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was
read, and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow-
ing vote was had: Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3)
Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the sane and is numbered 403.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 39 of
Resolution Book Number 2.
Commissioner Dodds moved that the City Clerk be instructed
to advertise for bids for 1 000 feet of fire hose, bids to be re-
ceived up to and including Monday, February 7th, 1927 at 5:00 P. M.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
