11-01-1926 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR TEETING. C0124ISSIONERS ROGId, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 1st., 1926. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November 1st, 1926. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering., the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 25th, 1926 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ?rdinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finale doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp- bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3304. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.` On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3305. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to taxicabs. it On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Belvering, Camp- bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3306. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the re -opening of a portion of the north and south alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street north of Elm Street, in the City of Salina, Kansas, and granting to the Union Pacific Railroad Company rights of way across said alley. On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll -was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp- bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3307. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the reconstruction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a portion of a certain alley in Survey - orfs Plat No. 31 in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. The following resolutions were introduced and read: Providing for the curbing, guttering, grading and paving Crawford Avenue from the east line of Tenth Street (north of Crawford) to the city limits at the east line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Right-of-way; Providing for the grading and paving Ninth Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue to the center line of loud Avenue; 244 Providing for the curbing, guttering, grading and paving Otis Avenue from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Fifth street; and Fifth Street from the north line of Otis Avenue to the north line, produced, cif College Court Addition; For the curbing, guttering, grading and paving Pacific Street from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the city limits at the center line of Front Street. Commissioner Campbell moved that the City Clerk publish notice of the special meeting to be held November 29th, 1926 at 5:00 P. M. at the meeting room of the Board of Commissioners of said City, which date has been fixed as the time and place for the consideration of said resolutions,and that any citizen of said City, or the owner of any property affected thereby, may appear and make written objection to the contemplated improve- ment and to the passage of said resolution at said time and place. City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate of cost for the construction of a lateral storm sewer in Country Club Heights Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same were approved by - the Board of Commissioners and the City 6lerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of the above named sewer, to be received up to and including Monday, November 8th, 1926 at 5:00 P. M. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk.
