09-27-1926 Minutes• 9 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COP. MISS IONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTE14BER 27th, 1926. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 27th, 1926. Meeting was called to order. by 1,byor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Kegular 'Yee ting of September 20th, 1926 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the submission to the legal voters of the City of Salina, Kansas, at the general election to be held on November 2nd, 1926, the question of authorizing the sale of certain real estate belonging to the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering,, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The 11ayor approved the same and is numbered 3291. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing the acceptance of a proposal from the United Power & Light Corporation for the furnishing of electric current for street lighting in the City of Salina, and for the installation, maintenance and operation of street and other lights, V,7hite Way systems, etd. , in said. City, at the charges and upon the conditions set forth therein, and providing for the execution of a contract by the City and said Company according to the terms of such proposal, and repealing all other ordinances or parts of ordinances, and all other contracts or parts of contracts in conflict with the contract hereby authorized and with the provisions of this ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Application and taxicab policy was received from W. C. Riggs for the operation of a taxicab in the City of Salina. Same was referred to the City Attorney. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commis- sioners adjourned. City Clerk.
