C0MMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGUTAR I&ETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
AUGUST 30th, 1926.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners
August 30th, 1926. Meeting was tailed to order by Aayor
Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering,
Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded,
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 26th,
1926 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: It An prdinance
making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motio n of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption
the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor —
approved the same and is numbered 3287.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading
entitled: "An ordinance providing for the issuance of
Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the
sum of 418,977.99 to pay the cost of improving certain
streets and constructing of certain storm sewer in said
City*n
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was re-
ferred to the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Helvering was instructed to sign contract
with Chicago Bridge & Iron Works for the erection of
Stand pipe.
Mayor Helvering recommended that the fine for first
offense for speeding be $5.00 and $10.00 for second of-
fense, and that an ordinance be drafted amending that
section of Traffic Ordinance relating to speeding. Carried.
City Manager Kagle submitted the name of D. K.
Fitch as Chief of Police of Salina, Kansas, and on motion
appointment was confirmed unanimously by the Board of
Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of
Commissioners adjourned.
