COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR tgEETING.
COWISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
AUGUST 2nd, 1926.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, August
2nd, 1926. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering,
the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 26th, 1926
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: r'An �grdinance
making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of' Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 3274.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the construction of a six-inch water main extending from
tbB present terminus of the water system of the City of
Salina at Tenth and Crawford west to the property of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad Company lying west of the present
City limits of said City and south of Crawford Avenue."
On motion of Commissioneer Dodds same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitldd:
"An ordinance providing for a license tax upon certain
itinerant or transient persons not residents of the City of
Salina, Kansas, and providing a penalty for the violation
of this ordinance.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking for permission to
erect a store building on the west 20 feet of Lot 168 on
Third Street (next to the alley).
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred
to the City Planning Commission.
City Engineer asked for further time to file plans
and specifications and estimate of cost for proposed "I,1hite
'qday" to be installed on several streets in the City of
Salina.
Commissioner Campbell moved that time be extendedto on or before
ninety days from date. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commis-
sioners adjourned.
