JUNE 2nd, 1926.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 2nd,
1926.. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll
was called and Commissioners Helvering and Campbell and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Dodds absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 24th, 1926,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinahee was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbe;l the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Hel-
vering (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 3250.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance rmking
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the roll was called and
ordinance read and adopted by sections as follows: Ayes: Campbell
and Helvering (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. The
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3251.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating, to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the city of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of re -curbing and guttering
aeventh street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the north line
of Walnut Street to the south line of Elm Street in said City,
and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of
-Ik such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Hel-
vering (2) Nays (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. The 14ayor
approved the same and is numbered 3252.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of excavating, grading and surfac-
ing with sand clay Tenth Street from the north line of Lincoln
Avenue to the south line of rand Avenue; for the curbing, exca-
vating, grading and surfacing with sand clay Lincoln Avenue
from the west line of ninth Street to the west line of enth
Street; and for the excavating, grading and surfacin with sand
clay Thirteenth Street from the north line of Union acific
Right -of -Way to the south line of Grand Avenue all in the City
of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments,
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Helver-
ing (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. The Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3253.
The following communication was received from the City
Planning Commission:
Salina, Kalsas. May 24th, 1926.
I have to report to you and to the City Commissioners
that at a meeting of our city planning commission the evening
of- May 21st, we voted to recommend to you that the following
lots included in the commercial zone:
North half of Lot 5 Block 12 South Park Addition
Lot 9, Block 132 South Park addition
Pots 1,2,3,12,13,14,15,16, Block 4 southern Heights,
Lots 4 and 5. Block 53, Southern Hefghts.
This would constitute an extension of the commercial
district recently formed or being formed in that part of
town, and we trust that you will give full consideration to
this extension.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was adopted by
the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instruct-
ed to publish the necessary notice in the official City
paper.
A communication was received from the Chamber of Com-
merce relating to parking limit of automobiles on certain
streets in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Campbell moved that communication be laid
uppn the table.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
