05-24-1926 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR 14EETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MAY 24th, 1926. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissiohers May 24th, 1926. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Cambell ell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 17th, 1926 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of excavating, grading and surfacing with sand clay Tenth Street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Grand Avenue; for the curbing, excavating, grading and surfacing with sand clay Lincoln Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line of Tenth Street; and for the excavating, grading and surfacing with sand clay Thirteenth Street from the north line of Union Pacific Right-of-way to the south line of Grand Avenue; all in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Com^.lissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of re -curbing and guttering Seventh Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the north line of Walnut Street to the south line of Elm Street in said City, and relating to are providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer submitted plans and specificstions and esti- mate of cost for the construction of lateral storm sewer on: Ellsworth Avenue from SAnta Fe Avenue to Osborne Street; Ash Street from Missouri Pacific Right-of-11lay to Olive. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same were approved by the Board of Commissioners,) and the City Clerk was instructed to advert- ise for bids for the above named work to be received up to and including Monday, June 7th, 1926 at 5:00 P. M. A petition was presented asking for the installation of a street li§ht at the intersection of Ninth Street and Decatur Street. ame was referred to the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners adjourned until Wednesday, June 2nd, 1926 at 5:00 P.
